It is displayed in a Meauseam of Arts in France and was painted by Leonardo between 1503, and the year of his death, in 1519. An interesting fact about the Mona Lisa is that everyone is so used to seeing the big posters of it, but when they go and see the original it is only about half of the size of the poster. |
Another well known painting of Leonardo Da Vinci is the Last Supper. The painting is 15 feet by 29 feet. It is a large mural that covers the backwall of the dining hall at Saint Maria Delle Grazie, in Milan, Italy. Leonardo painted this mural in between 1495 and 1498.
